Victory at the management case study competition in Miskolc!

Our students achieved victory at the “Susánszky János” Case Study Solving Memorial Competition, held in Miskolc between March 20-21, 2025, focusing on management. The Department of Economics and Business Administration in Hungarian Language of BBU and the GTK Business Consulting Club were represented by four students competing under the team name Sudoku: Burkhardt Balázs (Business Information Systems, 1st year), Izsák Adél (Finance and Banking, 1st year), Lázár Benedek (Business Information Systems, 1st year), Székely Evelin (Business Management, Master’s, 2nd year).

Throughout the competition, our team competed against students from universities in Budapest, Miskolc, Veszprém, and Debrecen. The case study was provided by MVK Zrt., the public transport company of Miskolc.

Participants had 10 hours to develop their solution, including a company visit, where they gained insight into the administrative and technical processes of the organization. The task was to analyze the company’s current situation from a sustainability perspective and create a strategy for greener public transportation and a more sustainable city, utilizing IoT, artificial intelligence, and other innovative tools.

The jury, consisting of company representatives and the company’s CEO, highly praised our team’s performance, awarding them first place. As a special recognition, Gadnai-Bodnár Éva, CEO of MVK Zrt., announced that the slogan proposed by our team will be used in the company’s five-year sustainability project.
