Victory in Budapest at the National Case Study Competition (OEV)!

The final of the National Case Study Competition organised by Corvinus University of Budapest took place from 13-15 April 2024, and our student team successfully qualified from more than 50 teams. In Budapest, the 12 finalist teams competed in a 33-hour competition, with the BBU and GTK student team emerging as the winner.

The team, representing the Department of Economics and Business Administration in Hungarian Language of the Babeș-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca (BBU) and GTK Business Consulting Club, consisted of Zsófia Albert (Finance and Banking, 3rd year), Anna Bugár (Finance and Banking, 3rd year), Krisztina Bokor-Tóth (Master of Business Administration, 1st year) and Kende Pásztor (Master of Business Administration, 1st year). The team was coached by Dr. Levente Szász, University Professor, Dr. Béla-Gergely Rácz, University Assistant Professor and Dr. Lehel Györfy, Associate Professor.

In the qualification round, the teams had to solve the case of Hungarian flooring manufacturer Graboplast, developing a strategy to make the company a major player in Europe. After the successful qualifying round, the teams in the final had to face another challenge, this time the case of Giro ZRT, Hungary’s central clearing house and therefore a key player in Hungarian cash flow. The main question of the final case was to explore the applicability of AI in public financial institutions – in this case, the student teams had to extend the service portfolio of the central clearing house with an AI-enabled offer.

Congratulations to our members for this excellent performance and result!
