Victory, second prize and TOP 6 position for first year GTK students at the Eset Start Management Competition

Four teams of GTK’s first-year juniors participated in the case study competition of Budapest University of Technology and Economics, ESET Start. Three of the four teams made it into the finals, where 2 of teams were awarded 1st and 2nd prizes.

The online competition was organized between 8-13 November 2022. A qualifying round preceded the finals, where the four competing teams of GTK were Free Thinkers (Ábel Dimén-Varga, Barbara Kürti, Dávid Szabó Zsiga), Doge (Kata Szalontai, Anita Szomyu, Krisztián Tófalvi), SicTeam (György Vargyasi, Tamás Vitos, Gergely Boda) and EconoMix (Richard boros, Kriszta Dénes, Gergő Kolozsi, Péter Bereczki-Orbán). The case of the qualifying round was about Cinema City. Afterwards, three teams of GTK students qualified for the final round (Free thinkers, Doge and EconoMix). In the final round, the students had to develop a strategy for Loxon in 24 hours and present their solutions in 12 minutes. In the finals Free Thinkers won 1st place, followed by another GTK team, Doge, winning 2nd place.

The advisory professors of the teams were dr. Lehel Györfy, dr. Levente Szász and dr. Béla Rácz.
