Bereczki-Orbán Péter and Kolozsi Gergő share their experiences on the Management Shadowing program!

Between April 25-26, 2024, our active members Péter Bereczki-Orbán and Gergő Kolozsi participated in the Management Shadowing program at the Hodler Asset Management company in Budapest, where they had the opportunity to follow the days and be the “shadows” of Alpár Kiss. The students’ experience can be read below:

“We were able to spend 2 days at the Hodler Asset Management company, during which we primarily gained an insight into Alpár Kiss’ work circles, and we also got to know the everyday life of the other departments as well. On the first day, on April 25, we immediately fell into a birthday greeting, and then we threw ourselves into professional learning. This day was primarily about getting to know the legal environment. We learned about the legal procedures involved in establishing a joint venture, and then analyzed such a contract in detail. We started the next day, April 26, with a private meeting and for the rest of the day, the focus was on finance, including methods of screening companies and company evaluation. At the latter we learned 3 different methods: the asset-based valuation, EBITDA multiplier valuation, and discounted cash-flow methods.

Overall, we were able to spend 2 meaningful days at the company and follow the integration of a lot of theoretical knowledge into practice.
