Case study solving – Tim Hortons

The first case study solving took place on 26 November 2022. The students had to propose a new growth and expansion strategy for Tim Hortons, a Canadian restaurant and café chain.

Tim Hortons has opened its first store in Shanghai, China and wants to expand, however they have met many obstacles, like the rudimentary level of the coffee culture in China. Students have created strategies for growth and expansion, taking into account the obstacles.

The members were divided in 5 teams, each having 10 minutes to present their solutions, which was followed by a 10-minute Q&A session. The students’ works were assessed by a professional jury of 4 members, who then provided the students with advice.

We would like to thank András Borsos, dr. Lehel-Zoltán Györfy, dr.Levente Szász and Levente Vigh for the judging and for the valuable advice!
