Discussion with Attila Gorbai

On Monday, 21th November, the GTK members had the opportunity to get to know Attila Gorbai, the successful leader of Tenrom. The atmosphere was friendly and informal, as the speaker told his story of becoming a successful business leader.

In high school he wanted to become a history teacher, and later, under the influence of one of his teachers, a geography teacher. The speaker used the stories to reflect on the importance of choosing role models to learn from in life, while also pointing out that building a network of contacts is also essential in business.

Continuing the story of his life, the leader said that although he managed to get a job as a geography teacher, after a while he changed jobs, first in a computer sales position and then as an employee of Tenrom, a company that distributes cleaning machines. Over the years, he has managed to get better and better positions in the above-mentioned company, reaching the level of Managing Director.  As Managing Director, he expanded the company’s operations in Romania and Hungary.

During the presentation and discussion, the GTK members gained a lot of new information and learned first and foremost that the key to success, even in the worst and most difficult times, is perseverance and belief in oneself.
