Evelin Székely and Márk Dinea participated in the Management Shadowing programme

On 13-14th July, Evelin Székely and Márk Dinea, GTK members, participated in the management shadowing programme at the Bonafarm Group, as the “shadow” of István Barok and Zselyke Demeter.

The students’ experience report can be read here:

„Between 13-14 June 2022 we took part in the management shadowing programme at Bonafarm in Budapest, where we were able to follow a day’s programme of the business development team led by István Barok in the office building, and the next day we saw where the numbers on paper come from, as we visited the group’s slaughterhouse in Mohács and the cow farm where a significant part of the milk for Sole-Mizo products comes from.

On Wednesday morning, the 13th, we started the programme at the office building, where we first saw a presentation rich in information about the creation and development of the group. The rest of the day consisted of a lunch (and rest) break, during which we had the opportunity to participate in a series of internal meetings and face-to-face discussions with various managers, employees and partners of the Group, as the “shadow” of István Barokk.

The next day, at 7am we were on our way to the slaughterhouse in time to complete the day’s activities. We were accompanied by Zselyke Demeter and the business  development team.  At the slaughterhouse, we first changed into the entry work clothes, essential in such a sterile and modern plant, although the additional disinfection protocols are no less important. In the slaughterhouse we moved from the „clean” section to the „dirty” section, meaning we first saw the final stage of finished products, the packaging, and from there we moved backwards in stages, all the way to the live pigs. We finished the visit with lunch, then headed for the cow farm. Here, we were able to see thousands of cows, from half-hour-old gilts to milking cattle, and also witnessed a fully automated, animal-friendly milking process. We closed the day and the whole shadowing session at the office in Budapest, where we had a pithy evaluation meeting with István Barok, and then headed home with his good advice and our freshly gained experience.

Many thanks to Bonafarm, István Barok, Zselyke Demeter and the whole team for the opportunity, their time, energy and patience!”
