Kelemen Tas shares his experiences on the Management Shadowing program

On 17 May 2024, as part of the Management Shadowing program, our member Kelemen Tas had the opportunity to spend a day as Attila Pásztor’s “shadow” at East Cargolog logistics and transport company.

Tas’s experiences: “During the first half of the day, I was able to learn about the main activities of the company, and to understand that East Cargolog is a subsidiary of the East Group, and how the companies support each other at the level of vertical integration within the group. The day continued with two meetings. In the first, with the drivers, they discussed who should deliver what type of cargo where to optimize their processes in the most cost-effective way. The second discussion was about expanding strategic coverage and the types of partners the company could work with during the peak summer season.

The rest of the day also gave me an insight into how the logistics department organizes its cross-border transport and the movement of export and import goods. This was followed by an understanding of the accounting department’s invoicing processes and the practical usefulness of these processes.

All in all, it was a very useful and enlightening experience for me, realizing how much a logistics company needs to pay attention to, but also learning the importance of constant communication and teamwork within the company.
