Management Case Study Competition in Cluj-Napoca, 2009

During the period of 14th-17th December 2009 the Hungarian Department of the Babeş-Bolyai University’s Economics Faculty and Business Administration and the Pro Oeconomica Association organized the Management Case Study Competition for students, continuing the 17-year tradition of such competitions in Cluj-Napoca.

The 15 competing teams had 4 members each, and were given a real-life economic issue to solve. The case study revolved around the situation of UPS Distribution, a company dealing in batteries, powers sources, and services concerning these products.

The BCC members achieved outstanding results. István Barok, Réka Birton, Dénes Laczkó and Tamás Vincze won first prize, Béla-Gergely Rácz’ ranked second, Szilárd Szakács and Krisztián Székely ranked 3rd, while Boglárka Dorner, Attila Erdély, Csongor Farkas, Kinga Beáta Szőcs and Éva Lakatos all received diplomas of mention.
