Communication training series with dr. Magor Kádár

On 14th March 2022, the members of the GTK Business Consulting Club participated in the first communication training of the semester, led by Dr. Magor Kádár. The training was held on-site in the GTK office. During the event, the students worked on the analysis of presentations, gaining knowledge that they can use in their future presentations, competitions and industry analyzes. In the second half of the training, the students watched a TED talk and analyzed it using techniques that they had previously learned. At the end of the training, they were given the task of analyzing their own industry presentation.

On 28th March, the members of the GTK participated on the second communication training course of the semester, during which they analyzed their performance in the first semester’s Industry Analysis presentation. In preparation for the session, the students watched a video of their presentation and then identified areas for improvement by completing a complex evaluation form. During the event, they worked with Magor to find solutions to the problems in order to avoid mistakes in the future.

The penultimate part of the GTK students’ communication training series took place on 11th April. This time, the focus was on how to handle questions and compliments. Students learned how to have deep conversations with people of different status. At the same time, motivation within the organization was also discussed.

They had to solve various creative tasks to develop their communication skills and they had to imagine themselves in a given situation.

On 16th May, members of the GTK Business Consulting Club participated in the last communication training of the semester, led by dr. Magor Kádár. At the beginning of the event, students had to complete a test related to conflict management. The result of this test showed the students in which conflict management group they belong to: adaptive, avoidant, compromise-seeking, problem-solving, or competitive. Then, they were divided into fictive consultation teams. A case was given in which problems arose in an IT company, leading to conflicts between managers and employees. Each team was given the task to give advice on how to resolve the conflict. Thanks to this course, the students acquired a very important skill in today’s world: conflict management.

We would like to thank Magor for the very useful training series!
