The international final of PRMIA Risk Management Challenge was hosted on the 19th of April, in the online space. In total, 57 teams (with 221 students) attended this year’s risk management challenge, from which 12 teams managed to reach the final, by winning their regional rounds. The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of Babeș-Bolyai University was represented at this world-level competition by 4 students from the Hungarian line of study: Barabási Tamás (1st year Business Management, Msc), Borsos András (1st year Corporate Financial Management Msc), Breier Andrea (1st year Corporate Financial Management Msc) and Jakó Zsolt (1st year Corporate Financial Management Msc). The teams competed against universities like the Imperial College London, the New-York Columbia University, the Georgia State University, or the “Frederico II” University of Naples. The semifinals consisted of two groups of six teams, and from each group only one winner qualified to the final. Both qualified teams came from the Rotman School of Management (Toronto), but in the end the team “The Big Four” managed to win the competition. As a prize, they were given 10,000 dollars.
Synergy Consulting, the team of Babeș-Bolyai University received a special award at the level of the Matlab Challenge for creating the best interactive dashboard, awarded by MathWorks. Furthermore, they received a PRMIA Sustaining Membership for a year.
